jonathan zawada : free dumb exhibition at vallery gallery, barcelona

jonathan zawada exposes since April 28th till June 2nd at Vallery gallery in Barcelona.

this new project called “Free Dumb” presents on one hand a series of graphics, illustrated posters utilizing mass market oriented image production techniques and modern design language to communicate personal ideas, values and feelings.

to contrast with this first part, jonathan worked on a second section exhibiting a selection of programming based images that are the result of his attempts to strip away his controlled and methodical approach to image making, leaving the resulting images very much defined by the tool itself and reminiscent of cave paintings or primal landscapes.

super limited prints avail on Vallery’s online store.

pacific: pmkfa & antonin gaultier exhibiting the everyday

since May 7th (and until May 28th), L.A Scion Gallery is hosting the PACIFIC exhibition curated by our japanese designer PMKFA and his friend Antonin Gaultier.

featuring Atsuhiro Ito, Kyohei Sakaguchi, Megumi Matsubara, Motoyuki Daifu, PMKFA, Takashi Suzuki , Teppei Kaneuji, Ujino, Yotaro Niwa, and Yuri Suzuki, this exhibition is based on what most of us consider as “The everyday”. It’s a way for the artists to give their interpretation of this, but visitors are also invited to think about its daily environment and the consequences of our way of life.

fragments of what you see, what you hear, or what you touch, the different materials illustrate a part of the natural world, and more precisely the Pacific Ocean.

people, throw an eye on this work, and if you are lucky enough to be chillin in SoCal these days, don’t miss the exhibition.

takeshi’s artwork for the red bull music academy

on thursday, february 17th, the first RBMA session happens in Lyon, the best way to discover what the academy looks like : a platform dedicated to the music artists of tomorrow.
since 1998, the Red Bull Music Academy has set up its studios in Berlin, New York, Sao Paulo, London, Cape Town, Melbourne or Barcelona, and 2011 will see the 60 selected participants invading Tokyo next fall.

to celebrate the launch of their compilation ‘Let’s The Children Techno’, Pedro Winter & Dj Mehdi (ed banger rec) were invited alongside Clara Moto (infiné) to talk about the academy, about music, about production and answer questions from the lucky people who could attend the event.

for the occasion Red Bull France asked us to create an artwork mixing the RBMA logo with illustrations inspired by japanese atmosphere to produce a 2-meters cut out to be displayed on the back of the stage.
takeshi was the perfect designer for that…
